Karen practices labour, human rights, and administrative law. With experience working in-house and as external counsel, Karen focuses on advancing the rights of individuals and developing strategies to achieve institutional clients’ organizational goals.

Karen joined AQR in 2021, after practicing in Toronto as in-house counsel at a major provincial union and as staff lawyer at a national feminist non-profit. She has appeared at various levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and at administrative tribunals.

Karen received her law degree from the University of British Columbia, where she received numerous awards including in labour relations, constitutional law, and advocacy, and for her contributions to feminism in the law.
