Susanna practices labour and class action law. She has appeared before the BC Provincial Court, BC Supreme Court, and BC Court of Appeal, as well as administrative tribunals in BC and Ontario.
Susanna has a particular interest in legal issues affecting migrant workers. She serves on the Board of Directors at the Migrant Workers Centre and has experience litigating at the intersection of employment and immigration rights. She regularly guest-lectures on this topic.
Before becoming a lawyer, Susanna was a high school teacher in Surrey. She spearheaded the district’s second-ever Gay-Straight Alliance. She has continued to advocate for LGBTQ equality as a lawyer. Susanna was awarded the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch’s Equality & Diversity Award for her work advancing transgender equality.
Susanna was raised in the labour movement and has been an activist with the BCTF and CUPE. She is now raising two of her own children in the same manner.
