Joy started with Allevato Quail & Roy as an articling student after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. She has since stayed on as an associate, working on grievance arbitration, labour board, civil litigation, and class action matters.
Joy is passionate about fighting for justice for vulnerable workers. She regularly works with clients facing intersectional oppressions including sexism and racism in the workplace. She also has a particular interest in disability rights and in the intersection of climate activism and the labour movement.

Before law school, Joy worked in environmental advocacy supporting several campaigns, including a campaign against human rights abuses in the cocoa supply chain. This campaign involved advocacy to improve working conditions for cocoa farmers, which laid the foundation for Joy’s core belief that when worker power is at the centre of fighting for a better world.

Joy’s practice focuses on labour, employment, and human rights law.
